ABOUT INSTITUTE:
SSCASR
has an independent campus located in the picturesque Panchagiri Hills opposite
to the Art of Living International Ashram, Kanakapura Road, Bangalore.
DEGREE AWARDED
After
the successful completion of the course, the students will be awarded Ayurveda
Acharya, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery degree (B.A.M.S.), provided
he/she has satisfactorily completed the one year compulsory internship also.
CAMPUS INFRASTRUCTURE
At
SSCASR, students are provided with excellent infrastructure facilities to aid
them in their studies and all round development . The facilities include a well
equipped library, laboratory, museum and hostel complex.
HOSTEL
Separate,
spacious and well equipped boys and girls hostel, indoor games facilities,
meditation hall and spacious dining hall are provided.
FACULTY
The
college has a highly qualified and experienced teaching faculty and training
staff, many of whom are established names in their respective fields.
LIBRARY
The
college has a well established library consisting of over 3500 titles in
Ayurveda and other medical books for reference. A number of periodicals, Indian
and International journals are also subscribed to. The library is open to the
staff and the students of the college only.
DIGITAL LIBRARY
Separate
digital library facility is available with internet, browsing, helinet
connection, with access to over 2000 medical journals. Here fresh students are
trained by the experts to get computer knowledge.
HERBAL GARDEN
About
400 species of plants which include rare and local species of medicinal plants
are spread in an area of 6 acres. This helps the students to get familiarized
with each species of medicinal herb.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
CENTRE
The
college has a well equipped pharmacy with various products manufactured and
marketed under the brand name of Sri Sri Ayurveda.
Manufacturing
of Herbal Medicines, Body Care Products and Food Supplements along with major
research activities are undertaken at the state-of-the-art, GMP certified
production unit and research center located in the vicinity of the college
campus.
TRANSPORT
Transport
facilities are available for students and staff from city to the institution
and for local visit to different institutions for academic purposes.
ADDITIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME
Every
year excursion to places outside the campus is conducted as a part of
Educational learning & training to the students.
SPORTS
Spacious
ground for outdoor games, facilities for indoor games & regular coaching by
Physical Trainer, is given to enable the students to participate in various
State and National level competitions.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Students
are exposed to different co-curricular activities like the YES+ programme of

development and a perfect atmosphere is set for the blossoming of the
individual to the full potential.
Teaching
of Kannada for non-Karnataka students, Indian Constitution, Computer Science,
Principles of Management etc. are crafted into the curriculum. Coaching is
arranged in Martial arts, Football, Swimming, Table tennis, etc. These measures
ensure that the students are groomed into unique and thorough professionals,
well-equipped and raring to serve the world.
Students
are encouraged to participate in all National/ International level Symposiums,
Seminars and workshops conducted by Art of Living.
Separate
coaching classes in music and dance are also being held on Sundays. Interested
students are trained in respective cultural sections.
ASSOCIATED ACTIVITIES
NSS WING
This
wing is actively involved in various events like rural health camps,
cleanliness programme, regular blood donation camps, celebration of National
days and other services.
BHISHAK SRI AWARD
The
institution has a good tradition of recognizing the services of senior
physicians in the field of Ayurveda by conferring 'Bhishak Sri' award every
year.
AYUR JAGRUTI
Regular
‘Ayurveda Awareness Camps’ are conducted to encourage the practice of this
ancient and highly efficient form of cure and healthcare among the general
public.
Conferences and Seminars
Regular
National and International level conferences and seminars are conducted in
order to enable the staff and students to keep in touch with modern technology
and latest development in Ayurveda.
GUEST LECTURES
Eminent
scholars of Ayurveda are being invited to the institution to deliver guest
lectures regularly.
GREEN HEALTH CAMPAIGNS
Green
Health Campaigns are organized regularly in which the villagers are encouraged
to plant medicinal plants, which can be used as medicines for common illnesses.
SHISHYOPANAYANA
Shiyopanayana
Samskara, a unique traditional ceremony of inducting the freshly admitted
students, is conducted every year in the presence of Poojya Guruji.
ACHARYA PARISHAD
Acharya
Parishad is a newly introduced unique academic programme where in a senior
Ayurveda scholar is invited to stay in the college premises for three days to
have intense academic sessions with students, staff & also to give
effective consultations to the patients.
Various
other festivities and occasions like Annual day, Annual Sports Meet, Hospital
Anniversary, Dhanwantari Jayanti, Teachers day, Gurupoornima, Independence Day,
Republic Day, etc. are also celebrated with joy and fervour in our institution.
The
college also boasts of an excellent anti-ragging committee and vigilance flying
squad according to the RGUHS, Karnataka and Government of Karnataka norms.
